Threaded and socket end PVDF Y strainers for ½", ¾" and 1" connections are least expensive in our molded design shown online at https://fdpp.com/y/PVDF.html.  Other sizes and connection types can be accomodated with our fabricated PTFE and PVDF Y strainers designs; available with threaded, flanged or tri-clamp connections.  These fabricated versions are designed to protect downstream processes from particles as fine as 12μm.  Characteristic of most Y strainer designs, fabricated PTFE and PVDF Y strainers provide a 2:1 open area ratio and thus are NOT designed for continuous particle removal.  Our article "SIMPLEX STRAINERS: Differences between Y and Basket Style Strainers" elaborates on the the types of applications Y strainers are best suited for and if you need to continuously remove particulate consider our PTFE basket strainers.

PVDF Y Strainer with True-Union Connections

All of the componets are made of PTFE or PVDF respectfully, with the exception of the straining element (ETFE or PEEK), the flange (PVDF, as applicable) and the o-ring seal (FEP encapsulated silicon).

Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) is very similar to PTFE with regards to chemical comptibility.  Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) is a corrosion resistant fluoropolymer wheras Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a thermoplastic material which maintains a superior chemical and mechnical resistance at elevated temperatures.

The element and knurled end cap are a one-piece item designed to be inserted and removed without tools.  A 1/8" or ¼" PTFE blow-down plug enables flushing of acumulted particles without removing the element from the strainer.  Eight standard retentions are listed below, we can provide additional mesh sizes and special materials such as porous membranes, PTFE, Hastelloy, Alloy 20, Monel and Tantalum.
