The SW series FRP simplex basket strainer is designed for pump protection at waterparks, pools and similar recreational plumbing systems for hair, lint and other common objects encountered in such locations. The RSW version has a reduced discharge nozzle and is typically on the discharge side of a pump system in support of smaller diameter plumbing.  The ESW version has an oversized body to handle high particulate loads common at zoos and aquariums. SW/RSW/ESW are designed to be easily maintained and requires no special tools.

The body of the SW/RSW/ESW simplex basket strainers are made of light weight FRP and have 316SS perforated strainer baskets designed to withstand up to 15 PSI differential pressure.  The open area ratio is at least 4:1 and its low pressure drop design is specifically designed with installation on the suction side of pump systems.

The acrylic lid enables visual confirmation of material collected within the basket and access is via stainless steel tee handles.  Gasket grooves on the strainer body help keep the EPDM or Silicone lid gasket positioned correctly.  The angled basket design self-centers and is easily removed via its handle.  Integral vent and drain plugs enable draining for safe basket access as well as degassing during pipeline filling.

We can provide non-alloy valves for isolation, venting and draining for an additional cost.

The SW/RSW/ESW are designed for pressures up to 50 PSI at 75F; at elevated temperatures 75<140F the maximum pressure rating is reduced.  The maximum suction pressure is 14 PSIG vacuum.
