Our cast carbon steel duplex strainers for ¾" to 24" size pipelines are manufactured by Eaton, Titan and Keckley. Eaton, Titan and Keckley all offer the ¾" - 4" sizes with a ball valve style diverter; actually Titan and Keckley both offer this design for the 6" and 8" sizes also.
The ball valve style diverter is the most user friendly design available because all you need to do to divert the flow is rotate a lever 180°so it points over the chamber in-use. Eaton and Titan have a elastomeric seal, so being a "soft seat" the sealing is superior to Keckley's metal-to-metal seal. Although some leakage into the isolated chamber is expected with any cast duplex strainer design, the Keckley design might be a little more prone to such leakage.
The Eaton Model 50 Duplex Basket Strainer is offered in the 5" to 8" sizes and it has a tapered plug valve style diverter. This design also uses a lever to divert the flow, but first the operator must "lift" the valve off the valve seat using a screw jack. The metal-to-metal seating may be advantageous for some applications. Often the diverting plug is provided in cast bronze material, as it is a replaceable component whereas the "valve seat" is the "strainer body" and not practical to "replace".
Cast steel duplex strainers for larger pipeline sizes are available from all three manufacturers. Eaton's Model 570 Duplex Strainers and Keckley's SDPXF Duplex Basket Strainers have a sliding disc style diverter. Rotation of a geared operator slides the discs from one chamber to the other. Eatons design uses (4) strainer baskets per chamber and Keckley's (2) strainer baskets per chamber. The concept of multiple strainer baskets per chamber is to reduce the size and weight of the strainer basket to enable an operator to remove them without the need for an overhead hoist. The Eaton Model 570 Duplex Basket Strainers are available in 8 to 24" sizes whereas the Keckley SPDXF Duplex Strainers are offered in the 10" to 20" size range.
Although Titan doesn't offer cast steel duplex strainers for pipelines >8", they do offer 300# class cast steel duplex strainers in the ¾" to 4" sizes, which neither Eaton or Keckley offers. If you require a 300# duplex basket strainer design from Eaton of Keckley, it will have to be a custom fabricated design, which provides Titan with a significant cost and lead time advantage.

NOTE: the differential pressure calculator is based upon the model 50 tapered plug valve design for the 8" size because the sliding disc style has lower flow coefficient values and thus a slightly higher clean differential pressure for a given flow rate.
